Biography:
Jullan was a Japanese techno-pop dou formed mainly by the students of Hitotsubashi University. The members are Hiroshi and Atsushi. Ryuichi Sakamoto showed them first in a radio programme. After it they became popular in Japan and one of their song ,"Because Of Love" was used for Kose Cosmetics' Fall '84 campaign. They sent a demo tape to the British "Melody Maker" who extolled them and they even signed a contract in the UK to make their debut record .
Their sound is melodious electro pop. They disbanded after 1985.

Since there only few Japanese sites to mention Jullan , i don't have more info, so don't know if they done more music or not since then.

There's also a UK comp. from '85 called 'Blush On Black' containing a totally different version (more minimal synth style) from "Imaginary Doll"

Killer post! Have never heard of them before, but the music presented in your blog never ceases to amaze me. I'm a fan of both YMO and German synth pop band THE TWINS, and Jullan seems to be the perfect mixture of these two bands. Big thumbs up!
