"This is classic dark synth pop,not many groups sounded like camouflage, pick this up if you like dark synth stuff"

" really like this album. Camouflage has done it again. It is the album after "Voices And Images" that happens to be one of my favorate albums. "Methods of Silence" has the dark synth sounds that we expect from a German synth-band. The album is a little darker and some people say more mature than "Voices and Images". I personaly enjoy them both very much and feel that they both offer the similar type of satisfaction. Songs like "Love Is A Shield", "Anyone", "Feeling Down", "Your Skinhead Is the Dream", and "Picture of Life" are closer to the album "Voices and Images" and are just fantastic and upbeat. There are more great songs like "One Fine Day", "On Island" and "Sooner Than We Think" that a bid slower and on the mild side."

MEANWHILE (1991)

"This is a great synth release. The music is very accessible, yet unique, given Camouflage's beautiful style and signature. This band is an example of state of the art synth music. They are like Depeche, but with more heart and soul."

BODEGA BOHEMIA (1993)

"All I have to say is buy this album for tracks 2 and 5 alone. Both are amazing and smooth and edgy and powerful and very complex and creative and catchy. They stir up amazing emotions. And of course, the classic Suspicious Love is on it as well. You can't go wrong. And their follow-up to this album, Sensor, which was just released this year a decade later, is amazing."

SPICE CRACKERS (1995)

"Been listening to them since Voices And Images and I felt they had some less than good material since then..but this is the best ever. "

" This one was such a positive surprise! I bought it on the strengths of the reviews, and I wasn't disappointed. Overall the album is somewhat mellow, but that's a good thing. Camouflage's sounds matured - the production is top notch and the compositions are excellent. A very solid album."

Biography:

The German synth-pop trio Camouflage was officially formed in 1984 by vocalist Marcus Meyn and keyboardists/programmers Heiko Maile and Oliver Kreyssig. The group took first
if place in a radio-sponsored song contest in 1986, and before long, their debut single, "The Great Commandment," was scaling the German charts. Their full-length debut, Voices and Images, was released in 1988, reflecting the group's classic new wave synth-pop influences, but most of all Depeche Mode. 1989's Methods of Silence began to broaden Camouflage's sonic palette, yet the Depeche Mode sound still remained at the forefront. Oliver Kreyssig then left the group, leaving Maile and Meyn as a duo augmented by several studio musicians. By the time of 1991's Meanwhile, Camouflage had garnered a not insignificant following on college radio; the album moved still farther away from synth-pop and incorporated greater instrumentation. However, with the advent of grunge, synth-pop lost a great deal of its footing on college radio; Camouflage soon found itself without an American record deal. 1993's Bodega Bohemia, available only as an import, moved back towards synth-oriented music and took a darker tone than much of their previous work. The mostly instrumental Spice Crackers followed in 1995, after which the future of the band was cast into doubt; a best-of compilation, We Stroke the Flames, was released in Germany in 1997. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide

I used to love Camouflage, but I didn't realize they were still around!

There seems to be a problem with the file for 'The Remix Collection - Part 2' I couldn't open that one, but all the rest are great!
