the saucer people said...: Its so weird, no matter what strange and uber-obscure track I am looking for, 9 times out of 10, it will always be my favourite few blogs that will have it...case in point, I am looking for the Arbeid Adelt version of "Death Disco" and I not only find that but a whole pile of post-punk Benelux goodies, I am especially happy to see 'The Neon Judgement' tracks as everything I have heard by them has been amazing!

Someone mentioned in the comments about the ex-Space guy Roland Romanelli and you said you had a couple of records by him, have you posted them anywhere?

I am just listening to a couple of tracks by him, one is called 'Space Police' from 1977 and the other is 'Black Deal' from 1978...no idea which albums they are from, just found them on an MP3 compilation but they are really cool, very Space-esque (unsuprisingly!)!

God knows how I missed your post of the Roland Romanelli albums and the Synthi & Gert single! Anyway, many thanks for sharing!

I had no idea Roland Romanelli was behind the Mc Lane Explosion! I always thought it was just a Tom Moulton production! Now I realise why Magic Fly sounds so similar to the Space original, it all makes sense now! Pulstar is definitely one of the best seventies 'cosmic disco' albums ever created in my opinion, such a lush production yet the Tom Moulton magic touch gives it a real funky feel.

Also thanks for the 1982 'Connecting Flight' album, I am totally mystified as to how this album escaped my radar for nearly 30 years especially given the fact Rusty Egan and John Luongo were involved...what weird is the fact it was never released in England at the time and infact it was only released here in the UK last year in digital format by Nang Records (which are a branch of the wonderful Tirk Records which released the excellent album full of remixes of Space tracks last year as well)

***one thing about the 'Connecting Flight' album, track number 6 'Imagination' seems to have glitches, I downloaded it twice to make sure but it still has that 'busted tape' sound! - if anyone else has issues with it could they comment or likewise if its fine, then I know its my problem!***

Also many thanks for the April Orchestra Vol 38, Guy Bonnet is definitely someone else to look out for!

In the original request for Romanelli records the poster asked for April Orchestra Vol49. The names on the cover say "Izzanelli & Samy Wathson" so I take it 'Izzanelli' is infact Romanelli!
I have an okish 192 rip of it, there are a few crackles and each side is recorded as a single MP3 but its worth a listen (unless someone has a better rip)...happy to upload it if anyone wants to hear it (not my rip and cannot remember where I got it from!)

The best April Orchestra album I have is the 1982 Volume 47 with one of my favourite all time artists Bernard Fevre of Black Devil Disco Club fame under his "Milpatte" name. (The tracks are reworks of his earlier material from his 'Suspense' album). The other side is taken up with tracks from Serge Bulot and they are amazing too, happy to upload it (again not my rip but high quality) if there is any interest.

Also have a rip of "April Orchestra Presents RCA Sound Vol.5" by Di Jarrell - experimental electronics from 1976 - pretty damned cool - again happy to upload.

The 'April Orchestra' releases would make an amazing post, so many of them and all so varied!; 4:38 AM
